A Field Study on Political Socialization of Political Science Students

Political socialisation refers to a process in which every individual who is born into society learns the basic values, institutions and rules of it becomes compatible with political culture. In this process, boundaries their own unconsciously, roles that society, forms behaviour deemed legitimate beliefs. as learning such family, friendship networks, school, mass media religion have constructive transformative process. processes individuals are shaped by these worldwide. This study claims reveal factors affecting science students Türkiye. The field research part was carried out quantitative methods survey design. context, administered 426 continue education department hypotheses determined for were tested analysing data SPSS package programme. findings show undergraduate Turkey frequently discuss politics families, but families do not want support children joining organisation. respond favourably invitations from friends attend meetings, although they follow through media, avoid interacting even online platforms. addition, there significant relationship between gender ideology.
